The Tour for the Cure is the ultimate baseball road trip - a unique venture to raise funds for cancer research. In collaboration with the Jimmy Fund and the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Tour will visit 180 major & minor league baseball stadiums across the United States. It combines the great American pastime with this vital cause.

Day Two: Nashville Sounds

The weather hasn’t warmed up much, as tonight’s game started in the low 40s. Opening night for the Sounds brought out a fair share of fans who embraced the cold in hopes of seeing an opening night win. However, it was not to be—the New Orleans Zephyrs shut down the Sounds offense and came out on top, 4-1.

The Nashville Sounds Stadium has a great guitar-shaped scoreboard and an enthusiastic mascot, Ozzie—who kept the fans in the game the whole time. Props to Ozzie for rocking out in the near freezing weather.

BREAKING NEWS!

America has a lot of farmland.

Day One: St. Louis

Traffic has not been kind to us during the first two days of the trip—it took us over 8 hours to get from Ohio to St. Louis. Tonight, we OFFICIALLY started the Tour with our first game—St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets. Unfortunately, due to how awesome the Cardinals are (World Series Champs), the game was completely sold out. Chris and I decided the best way to get tickets was wait outside the main entrance and hope that someone had extras they had to get rid of for little or no money. This was not the case. Fortunately for us, two Cardinals employees spotted us in the crowd looking hopelessly for tickets. They ended up giving us two extra tickets for free and thus made the first game possible. See below for the video taken right after we got into the park:

Goodbye Philadelphia, Hello Dublin… Ohio!

We picked up our rental car from AVIS and said goodbye to our homes in Philadelphia and hello to our new home on the road: a Pontiac G6 with heated leather seats and a sunroof. Almost 500 miles later, we arrived at our hotel in Dublin, Ohio. Did you know that you can tour a KitchenAid factory in Ohio? Go for it the next time you drive by.
